On September 26 at 2:57 p.m. Eastern, RC-01 completed its first successful Camera Module 3 Wide still capture. The image contained valid data at the full 4608 × 2592 resolution, with usable exposure, color, and focus.
Getting there required correcting the Pi-side ribbon orientation with power removed. The original no-camera result and the incorrect guidance that led to it remain part of the record.
This milestone established a working camera capture path. Object detection, spatial understanding, and autonomous startup were separate work still ahead. The AI HAT had not yet passed its first power-on check when this session paused.
